High quality knitwear is a key element of sportswear, especially if your training is intense. There is no room for compromise in this aspect. Years of professional training have shown us how important it is to have the functionality and durability of the clothes you wear. For activity to be fun and satisfying, the outfit must support you, not interfere.

This is where modern sports knitwear comes into play, which is priceless in terms of its properties. Today we can enjoy super lightweight materials, very pleasant for the skin, which remove moisture, do not cause abrasions or irritation.
What is hidden in their composition?
POLYESTER
Polyester accounts for the largest percentage of the knitted fabrics used to make UpToU clothes. It is a synthetic fiber with a special, hollow structure, from which most of the sports clothes in the world are made. It is ideal for outdoor training, club or dance floor activities.
Until recently, polyester had a bad reputation and was associated with airtight materials. Fortunately, those times are gone now, and good quality knitted fabrics with its admixture reign not only in sports arenas, but also more and more often on the catwalks of well-known designers.
What will you appreciate it for?
✅ does not fade, because it is resistant to UV rays
✅ does not absorb moisture, it just carries it away. This keeps your body dry even during intense activity, and you maintain the optimum body temperature (no cold or overheating).
✅ dries quickly, so it does not stick to the body and does not cause discomfort or abrasions
✅ is flexible but does not overstretch, warp or shrink
✅ is very durable so it will be with you for a long time.
✅ does not crease or pill
✅ it is bacteria, fungi or moles resistant
The main disadvantage of polyester is that it electrifies.
SPANDEX
Thanks to its combination with spandex, polyester is an ideal combination for sportswear. Spandex itself, which is also a synthetic fibre, is a frequent admixture to various types of knitted fabrics. Other trade names are elastane and lycra. This fibre has a positive effect on the elasticity and durability of the material, thus supporting your every move during exercise.
What will you appreciate it for?
✅ very good air permeability
✅ very high tensile strength of the fibres
✅ gives the knitted fabric super flexibility
✅ does not deform, warp or overstretch
✅ is pleasant in touch, so the clothes become like a second skin
In this case, however, you must avoid high temperatures, as spandex may lose its flexibility.
SO, HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THE OUTFIT?
The polyester itself has a high resistance to chemicals, but in case with the knitted fabrics with spandex admixture you have to be careful. Therefore, we recommend that you wash our outfits on the left side, at 30 Celsius degrees, do not chlorinate or bleach them. It is also best not to use the iron.
If you want to extend the life of your outfit and its properties it is best to use a mild detergent or one that is dedicated to cleaning sports clothes.
COMFORT IS ESSENTIAL
No matter what activity you do, our knitwear and clothes will always be there to support you. Since the spandex content of the materials we use is between 16% and 23%, they will adhere perfectly to the body. Even if you get wet while running in heavy rain, your clothes won’t deform and will dry quickly.
The material that will provide you with thermoregulation is the basis for your workout. Thanks to it, moisture, through which the body cools down strongly, is properly carried away to the outside, and you keep warm for longer, which directly affects the comfort during your activity. You will not finish your workout with abrasions as it sometimes happens when the outfit is made of moisture-absorbing materials such as cotton.
None of us likes to get cold or be overheated. Polyester & spandex is a mixture that will work well for intensive workouts both in summer and winter.
The quality of the knitted fabric is the basis, but it is the additions that give the clothes their taste. Read about it in our post > “devil is in the details“.
